A global direct marketing firm in Richmond, VA is searching for a top-notch Database Analyst to join their Data Management team. As part of this group, you will design and implement the underlying data architecture. Using proper procedures and functions, the Database Analyst will work to ensuring the scalability and performance of database systems. Qualified candidates must have a strong understanding of database tuning, monitoring, logical and physical modeling.
Responsibilities:
- Support development and infrastructure related projects; test databases, provide feedback and research new functions to help enhance productivity
- Collaborate with the architecture group and other team members to effectively communicate and generate technical solutions
- Write SQL Server stored procedure and Data Transformation Services (DTS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems preferred
- 7-10 years of database experience is required
- 5 years of database design & development experience is a must
- Minimum 2 years experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Data Transformation Services (DTS) is required
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and 2005
- Advanced SQL and SQL development including data conversion, migration scripts, and triggers
- Prior data warehouse design and implementation experience preferred
- Experience with marketing databases is a plus
- Excellent organization and communications skills
